Injectables Q & A

What are injectables?

Injectables are a convenient and effective nonsurgical treatment involving the use of a tiny hypodermic needle to deliver substances to diminish wrinkles, facial folds, and fine lines.

Injectables can restore volume and fullness to the face to reveal a more youthful-looking complexion. Injectables are available through prescription only and administered by a qualified aesthetic professional with special training.

Many factors, such as aging, can cause your face to lose some subcutaneous fat. The facial muscles can start to work closer to the surface of your skin, which makes facial lines more visible.

Over time, facial skin can stretch and lose elasticity, and injectables are an innovative and convenient solution to temporarily resolve some of these cosmetic concerns.

What can injectables do?

Aesthetic Therapies offers a range of effective injectables to treat a number of problems, such as:

  • Improve shallow contours
  • Plump lips
  • Soften facial folds, wrinkles, fine lines, and creases
  • Remove or reduce the lower lid shadow
  • Reconstruct facial contour deformities
  • Boost the appearance of recessed scarring

Injectables can address a specific cosmetic problem and treat some of the earlier physical signs of aging.

What are some of the different types of injectables?

Aesthetic Therapies provides different types of injectables, such as Dysport, Xeomin®, Radiesse, Restylane®, products, and Bellafill®. Injectables have specific purposes and can contain different materials and substances, such as hyaluronic acid and calcium hydroxyapatite.

Xeomin

Xeomin is an injectable filler that works in the same fashion as Botox. It is comprised of botulinum toxin type A, a protein that’s purified from the bacterium clostridium botulinum. The neurotoxin acts on nerve endings in your muscles to prevent muscle contractions.

Xeomin is different because it doesn’t contain any additives — just the botulinum toxin type A — so there’s less chance your body will produce antibodies that moderate the results of your treatment.

Xeomin is a highly purified neurotoxin that isolates the therapeutic component of the molecule.

Restylane®

Restylane is a collection of injectables that’s also formulated with hyaluronic acid. It’s FDA approved for subdermal facial tissue injections.

Dysport®

Dysport typically involves five injections of a special formulation above and between your eyebrows. This temporarily prevents your muscle movement in the area, while still allowing the surrounding muscles to function as normal.

Injectables involve little to no downtime. You may need multiple injections, or multiple treatment sessions, might be needed to achieve the best outcome.
